between the Old Testament and the New

begin a yearlong process of learning how

demonstrate an understanding of the
social, economic, political and
religious dimensions of the Jewish world
at the time of Jesus.

B. A World
Transformed by Jesus
I. The students will
compare and contrast Jesus' world view
with our own world view.

develop an appreciation of the Jewish

composite of more than one Gospel.

recall the extraordinary births the Old
Testament and make connections to the
extraordinary births of the New
Testament.

able to identify and explain the various
symbols of the infancy narratives and
make the connection as to how the
incarnation of Jesus continues to be
revealed in our world today.

recognize that God's plan is fulfilled
in the face of human and cultural
obstacles.

analyze Joseph's situation and his
willingness to accept God's will.

recognize the various ways in which our
culture has commercialized the Infancy
Narratives.
